Our mission is to provide a safe space for LGBTQIA+ folks to move and create a community with no judgement and no expectations beyond the hope that you have fun and make new friends. Based in Durham, NC, we offer seasonal sports and activities such as Kickball, Soccer, Ultimate Frisbee, Tennis, Kayaking/Paddling, Running and more throughout the year. Our Winter season runs from October-February and our Spring/Summer season runs from March-September. We play at various locations around Durham, such as Forest Hills Park, the Hope Valley Farms YMCA, and the JCC. Durham Queer Sports is open to all bodies, abilities, and experience. You can play or watch, come as little or as often as you want, and there are no sign-up requirements. Children are welcome with an adult guardian, as are well-behaved pets that are leashed. To participate, whether playing or not, we ask that you first sign our waiver on our website. If you're not big into sports, we have social hangouts after every game at various spots around Durham, such as Hi-Wire, Two Roosters, Boxcar, Ponysaurus, Motorco, etc. Outside of sports, we frequently gather as a group to attend Durham Bulls baseball games, movie screenings, community events, etc. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us!
