With marriage equality coming to North Carolina in 2014, couples are left asking each other many questions about what is next. You may not know what marriage will do to your financial, legal or tax situations. You may be wondering how this benefits your family or how to navigate the adoption process. You may wonder if your social security benefits will increase, what this does to your retirement, or what financial strategy to implement. Or you may have questions about the tax advantages or implications for you and your partner, should you tie the knot.
Come hear answers to these and other common questions our LGBTQ community has at a free presentation, sponsored by the LGBTQ Center of Durham. Presenters include Milan Pham, Attorney; Marie Baker, Financial Advisor; and Richard deButts, CPA.
Join us on Thursday, January 15th, 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Hickory Tavern, 370 E Main St, Carrboro.
